The Volkswagen Beetle was the car that knocked the Model T from its pedestal on 17th February 1972, after a reign of 45 years, when Beetle No. 15,007,034 rolled off the line. Produced from 1939 until Brazilian production ended in 2003, a total of 21,529,464 units were sold.
