Do see the pattern here? Renault take the small car and jam a bunch of power in the back – but this time the mid-engine was necessary just to fit the 2.9L V6, most commonly found in the Peugeot 406 Coupé. In it’s most powerful road-going version it produced 252 bhp, that was for the Phase 2 pictured above. That being said, the Clio V6 did weight in at 1,400 kg in this final variant. Although not heavy by any stretch, it’s almost 400 kg heavier than Clio 172 Cup at just 1,021 kg – But c’mon it’s a V6… in a Clio!!
